For a Object_Key there is a fixed 64 byte buffer for the UTF-8 key. It is a null terminated string, therefore the maximum size is 63 bytes. To allow for other abilities, such as numeric sorting, the last byte, or position 63, is set to a non-zero value. This allows for a text and binary representation to be place in the buffer. Both values will match, therefore a string comparison or binary comparison will return a match, but not necessary the same magnitude. - - - @? - Letter |
